The other evening, I asked my Lord what the end of it all was. He said, “To worship Me.”
In an instant I was an atom, a raindrop joining the others in the water. No longer my separate self, but joyously at one with all things. Above the earth I begin. Water vapor, glistening, weightless, the sun at my face, brethren around. The expanse of earth and sky before us, green, white, blue, white. I slowly then become aware that weight is gathering around us, tension is building, mounting, until the strength it takes to resist the free-fall is too great. Soaring! Gravity takes hold and the green earth grows great before us. I am free. Surrendered to the will of the present. I plunge down, down into a mountain river, transformed, joined with this body of water. Tumbling, flowing, swirling we go, along this etched path through wooded terrain. I am one with my brothers in the water. I am with the Creator. I am free. The joy of my poverty makes me sing. We gurgle, swirl, and churn to the melody of running water. I find myself being drawn to the water’s edge. Gathered to a new place. I touch soil, and am absorbed into it. I become nourishment to this substance, for it needed it. I seep down into darkness there. Then, I feel drawn in once again, I find myself being transformed into new material. I give in gladly, for this essence sings, and I desire to join it. Harmony. We continue to grow, nourished by new substances that are drawn to us. We sing together. There is light, we break through the darkness and the sun helps us grow. We can sing louder, with others around. There is life around me and in me. Time passes. Tension builds again in this new creation I’m in. Then color! We offer our beauty and seasoning to the world. We worship. Our aroma is fragrant and desirable to creatures. And I am taken. On the back of a bee I am carried across forest and field and deposited into another flower. Transformation happens once again: Something in me was needed, for I slowly become fruit. We expand, being nourished by many substances, including someone’s love. We are then plucked. I have become a meal for a two-legged being. My being gives energy and healing and nourishment to this person: down into her stomach I go, and once again am drawn to the edges of the waters, and absorbed into the soil of the body. Moving outward, I become a building block. I see light again. I am skin. I am a part of this person, and reflect who she is. There is joy, struggle, pain, love, hope. I feel her adoration of the Creator. And when they love each other, I rejoice with them. Everything sings.

ashe Liz,
doesn't sound to me that your head is in the clouds. or at least you are still touching earth. deeply.
this is the rhythm of life that we have lost. the three dances.
--the personal
--the communal
--and the cosmic
when we can align the rhythms of the three dances, our reward is a new dimension of time that most often is referred to as the sacred.
thank you for dreaming.
